Deck to Mast Plug

This page describes:
  1. Why I changed to a new deck to mast plug
The original plug was constantly giving me bad connections and it only had room for four small gauge wires. I had anchor, steaming and windex lights and was thinking about adding a deck light. That would require a fifth wire.
  2. Where it is installed
I located the new connector in the same location as the factory installed deck plug. It is just forward and to port of the mast.
  3. Where I purchased the materials necessary
All electrical supplies were purchased from the local West Marine. I used all pre-tinned wires. I bought this plug at West Marine. Your store might not stock it. But they should be able to get it for you. It is in their catalog. It is an Aqua Signal brand waterproof plug connector. Five pole plug connector is double sealed with O-rings. Impact-resistant glass-reinforced polycarbonate. Horizontal mounting. Wire inlet size: 3/8". Handle 16A per conductor, maximum 250V.
      West Marine Model number: 315168   AQSIG#80100-7 ShWt .35 $32.95 as of Nov. 23rd 2006
